Trump and Netanyahu: a decade of praise and tension
Context
The project reconstructs ten years of public statements by Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu, showing how their relationship moved between close political alignment and repeated moments of tension.

I designed and developed the visual chronology, organising a decade of documented statements into a format that lets readers follow how the relationship changed over time.
Data and methodology
The chronology was assembled from public statements and documented events. Each milestone is linked to its original source in the published story.
The statements are presented alongside one another, but they do not represent a real conversation between Trump and Netanyahu. Making that distinction clear was important to the design.
Key decisions
- We used an alignment scale to show shifts between tension, neutrality and close coordination without reducing the relationship to a single label.
- The design also makes visible a difference in their public communication: Trump's more personal and headline-making remarks contrast with Netanyahu's generally more measured language.
Result
The final chronology brings together a dispersed record of statements and events, allowing readers to see how the relationship changed over a decade.
